Chateau Tour de Mirambeau
Entre-Deux-Mers Reserve 2009
White Bordeaux
France, Approx. $15-20
Continuing with our French wines theme, we opened a bottle of Mirambeau Bordeaux, which we purchased at the new wine store at the Harvard General Store in Alice's hometown of Harvard, Massachusetts. This wine came recommended by the store owner, and we thought it would be interesting to try a white Bordeaux - as we primarily associate Bordeaux with reds. Not to mention that it was a French wine with a twist-off top! We were pleasantly surprised by this wine. It was very soft on the palate, with ripe pear and peach flavors. It is both crisp and rich on the palate, making it easy to drink -- and quite an interesting contrast to the Chardonnay that we had recently tried.
We've still got so much to learn about France, but this is one wine we'd drink again!
